Chimney Inspection
Your chimney works hard to keep your home safe and warm - but if it’s damaged or neglected, it can pose serious safety risks. Whether you're buying a new home or checking in on your current one, a proper chimney inspection is essential. I’m proud to offer certified chimney inspections and I’m currently the only home inspector in the area providing this specialized service.

How It Works
Certified Visual Inspection: I begin with a comprehensive visual review of the chimney structure—inside and out. This includes the flue, firebox, chimney cap, and crown, checking for cracks, damage, and general condition.
Masonry & Structural Review: Next, I examine the brickwork, mortar joints, and flashing to identify any deterioration, moisture intrusion, or signs of structural compromise that could lead to bigger problems down the line.
Safety Hazard Detection: Then, I look for signs of creosote buildup, blockages, or anything that could increase your risk of fire, smoke backup, or carbon monoxide exposure.
Draft & Ventilation Check: Proper airflow is critical. I assess the chimney’s draft performance to ensure it vents smoke and gases efficiently and safely out of your home.
Code & Compliance Check: After that, I confirm your chimney meets key building and safety codes, ensuring you're up to standard for both safety and resale purposes.
Clear Reporting with Action Steps: Finally, you'll receive a detailed section in your inspection report outlining any issues found, with easy-to-understand recommendations for repair, cleaning, or monitoring.
PLUS: You won’t have to call a separate chimney company. I’m the only home inspector in the area certified to do this work - saving you time, money, and hassle.
